TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I met Malcolm Currie in 2010, in my capacity as Systems Engineering Training Officer. In fact, I was on the interview panel that offered him a position in Systems Engineering. I recall being very impressed with what he had to offer the department. Malcolm has both strong technical and interpersonal skills. On the technical side, he has an extensive background in design engineering, demonstrating exceptional ability to generate 2D and 3D depictions of ship structural components, equipment and machinery installations and foundations, and composite diagrams of ship structure and systems. As a systems thinker, he excels at designing models/drawings that correlate accurately to engineering diagrams, and functions with a high level of competence on architectural/drafting assignments, using both free hand and software modalities, such as AutoCAD.
On the interpersonal side, Malcolm is very effective at building and maintaining collaborative relationships, both one-on-one and in teams. He also possesses strong project management skills, and I believe he would make an exceptional team lead, project manager, or supervisor. Demonstrating a keen interest in continuous improvement, he attended every training program offered by the department, and was always eager to improve and take on new challenges. I have never heard anyone say one negative word about him as a professional or as a person. Therefore, I am pleased to recommend him without reservation to any organization requiring the background and qualities described above, and is seeking an individual dedicated to dong the job right the first time. If you would like more information about Malcolm’s qualifications, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Ken Hultman, Ed.D.
